The show runs until 20th Abril, from Tuesday to Saturday from 3 to 9 p.m.

Silja Puranen (1961, Finland) focuses on the contrast between reality and the commonly accepted ideals in life. She uses found textiles, which already have a story behind. On them she transfers manipulated images, paints, stitches and makes embroidery by hand.  Her inimitable technique, which combines contemporary technology with traditional handicraft, was recently awarded with The Nordic Award in Textiles.  The work to be shown in La Galeria will arrive from Borås Museum in Sweden, where a big exhibition on her work was held. Silja Puranen has exhibited in Italy, Russia, France, Great Britain and Poland. Her work is at the collections of the State of Finland, Museums of Helsinki, Oulu, Kerava and Turku, in MIAAO, Textil Museum of Borås and Musée du Feutre in France.
